The NATO Naval Mine Warfare Centre of Excellence (NMW COE) organises and hosts the
2017 BiSC NATO NAVAL MINE WARFARE CONFERENCE (NMWC) on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 June
at NMW COE/EGUERMIN in Oostende (Belgium).
The Conference will be chaired by DCOS OPS from Allied Maritime Command Northwood (United Kingdom).
Theme topic and objective NMWC:
To discuss developments in unmanned and (semi-)autonomous MCM-systems and produce a list of elements that need development to succesfully deploy these systems in joint and combined operations. As a result of the Conference the items of this list will be included in NATO’s official NMW Capability Roadmap to have visibility and to seek solutions in the widest possible community of interest.
NMW-VISION A standard agenda-item at the NMWC is to discuss if the NMW-vision needs to be updated.

Attendees are requested to make their own accommodation arrangements, or may request accommodation on the EGUERMIN/NMW COE premises. The cost of accommodation is the responsibility of individual participants. Preferential rates for accommodation have been arranged with various hotels. The hotel MERCURE, hotel BERO, hotel BURLINGTON and the LEOPOLD hotel will provide discount rates if EGUERMIN is referenced at time of booking. However, NMW COE/EGUERMIN will not interfere and cannot be held responsible for any disputes on accommodation. Participants are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Catering and social events:
Lunch is available at the all ranks mess, located on the premises. Lunches (€ 4,50 pp) are to be paid at the registration-desk at EGUERMIN/NMW COE in cash.
An Icebreaker is planned on Monday-evening and a dinner on Tuesday-evening.
Parking and transport:
Parking for (rental) cars is available at EGUERMIN. Attendees wishing to park at EGUERMIN must provide their license plate number in advance during the registration process.
During the online registration process participants have to upload a copy of their Passport or Military ID and security clearance certificate.
