About Eguermin

EGUERMIN has a long tradition in the education of Naval Mine Warfare. It officially started as a Belgian-Netherlands school on the 1st of April 1965. A few years later the school opened up her courses to other NATO members. Today also partners from all over the world follow courses at EGUERMIN. 

Since 2006 EGUERMIN is the NATO Naval Mine Warfare Centre of Excellence (NMW COE) with a focus on educating NATO and partners in Naval Mine Warfare next to providing expertise and advise to the various NATO headquarters and agencies.This site provides information on Naval Mine Warfare in general and the education we provide. It also informs on what we do as NATO’s Naval Mine Warfare Centre of Excellence. Quality

ISO 9001 certificationThe mission of EGUERMIN is to provide courses, training and expertise in the field of Naval Mine Warfare. The school is always looking for quality and improvement, therefore we opted for ISO9001 certification. ISO9001 is an international, quality management standard which helps companies achieve effective and quality assurance methods. Since January 2014 the school is ISO9001 certified again.

Excellence
In December 2003, the Belgian and Netherlands Defense Ministers decided to propose EGUERMIN to HQ SACT as a prospective Centre of Excellence for Naval Mine Warfare. In April 2005, the three parties (BEL, NLD and SACT) signed a MOU to that effect. The North Atlantic Council (NAC) formally recognized EGUERMIN as a Centre of Excellence in November 2006. For decades, EGUERMIN’s and more recently the NMW COE’s expertise has been requested worldwide by commands, organizations and nations.
